The other night we went on our nightly walk with the boys. The next morning I couldn't find my keys to go to work. After frantically hunting everywhere for them, I took a spare. Trevor searched the house high and low. I looked in the stroller and my purse. No where to be found. So we assumed that we accidentally left them in the door after we unlocked them and somebody took them during the night.
When I went to leave work (and close) I realized I didn't have my keys to lock the door behind me. I realized I couldn't leave without locking the door due to the ammount of sensitive information that is stored there. I called my boss, and all my co-workers. Nobody answered. I went through all the drawers looking for a spare key. None to be found. Then one of my co-workers called me back, she was close and would come lock the door for me. SO GRATEFULL. Two minutes later she called and remembered the back door locks on it's own, so I didn't even need keys to lock myself out. GREAT INFORMATION 45 MINUTES LATER!
That night we were getting ready to go to bed and realized somebody still had our keys, to our house, car, and my work. I was sick just thinking about the access they'd have to our house while we were sleeping. So we fashioned some piece of mind-
We pushed a couch up against the door. Then we figured that people would beable to just slide it, we put two chairs up against the couch so that they would fall when the couch got pushed. Then not knowing if we'd hear it all, we hung bells on the door knob, 
and set a bunch on the chairs, so that when they fell we would hear it.
After we set it all up, I started thinking about the access they'd have to our car- I figured if somebody was going to steel our car, fine. But I didn't want them to take the carseats with it. So I got in my purse to get out the spare key so that I could get the car seats out......... And I found not just our spare keys, but THE keys!

That is a GREAT story! I really like your homemade alarm system, it would have worked great, but I'm glad you found your keys instead!
That is too funny. I HATE when I do things like that, which unfortunately is all the time :)
HA HA! Love it! I'm glad I'm not the only one who searches everywhere only to find what I was looking for is right where it should be! Love the bells though - that is hilarious!
