I just wanted to thank all of you that have been sending your prayers and love our way. Thank you so much to those of you that commented or called me. It always helps to know that I've got people to lean on. Thank you.
My mom's doing a lot better. To make a very long story short. She was in pain, had major surgery. Now for the Seantae "short" version:
She went into the ER on Friday, June 19th thinking she had appendicidus. Lots of tests.... high white blood cell count, but fine looking cat scan. Admitted into the hospital about midnight that night. Two days of not knowing. She was so sick and in so much pain. Finally late Sunday night they did another catscan and found an ulcer. OR called in immediately.
She had an ulcer on her eduidium (I'm still not totally sure what this is... I've just heard it so many times now. In Seantae terms... where her stomach and intestines meet... I think). The ulcer was causing a bowell perferation which was causing an abcess which was pushing on a nerve. In major surgery (they cut her from her breast to her pelvis) they removed the ulcer and the abcess and repaired the perferation, and also removed her appendix. They sewed up her stomach and put a tube from it out her nose. This was to help nothing get down to where the repair was so that it can have time to heal. Then there were three other drainage tubes coming from around the site and whatnot to help keep it dry, and to watch the healing process. Add a cathider and some oxygen and a feeding tube and my poor mom had 7 different tubes going in or out of her.
Needless to say she didn't feel so hot for awhile, and moving's been a challenge. A week after surgery one of her drainage tubes started leaking out of her body (instead of into the tube) Contents: bile. It was leaking all over her skin, causing it to get eaten away and be at a 10 in pain. Another cat scan. Emergency surgery? Just escaped it. (that would have set us back another week or two) Once we figured out how to get a colostomy back atached to the area she was starting to feel a little more comfortable.
She got home a week ago. She's moving pretty good (able to get up to the bathroom) and has lost a lot of her tubes. She's still got two drainage tubes and a feeding tube. Which she will have for probably another two months.
I'm so thankful for the things that man has created and for the intuition that the doctor had. Medically he should have let her go home after the ER. There was nothing to be found. If he had, she would have died within 24 hours of Sunday (when they did actually take her into surgery). This amazing man, set aside science. He couldn't sleep at night because he knew there was something going on that he couldn't see. Thank you from the bottom of my hear Dr. Bryce. And thank you to the nursing staff that has been patient and loving with not just my mom, but her two kids who refused to leave her side for two weeks.
This whole experience has reminded me that work, money, paying bills, religeous differences, ond quaralls, don't matter. What matters is the people you love and the people that love you. Even if you say I love you everyday, it is not enough. Prayers are always appropriate, no matter your beliefs. It's amazing what can happen when you have angels on your side!

Whew! That brought the lump in the throat. What an experience you all have been through. She was definitely being watched over. I'm so glad she's recovering now and that they figured out what was wrong and could help her. I'm glad you could be there with her through that scary time, I bet that means the world to her. You are for sure one of her angels here on earth. :)
We love you guys, and your mom and brother. So glad that things are on the up swing!
I'm so sorry that it has been so difficult! We'll pray for her and you for sure. What a blessing medicine and technology is. Sometimes I think that God heals us in that way--because he has inspired it all.
I am so glad to hear that things are looking up for her, although she still have a big battle ahead. Send her lots of love from us!!

Seantae, congrats on the pregnancy! I'm so happy for you guys, and so far behind on everyone's blog!! How exciting and what a sweet way to tell everyone. I LOVE it! And we will pray for your mom's recovery. How scary and what a blessing at the same time to have an inspired/in-tune doctor. Hang in there.
