34 Weeks

Well, onto the final stretch. This is the week I had the boys, and I'm happy to keep this one in longer to avoid the NICU. Still having lots of contractions, but some medicine (for a UTI) has helped a lot with the pain. Can't stand feeling unable to accomplish anything, but know it's for the greater good to stay down when I can. (If I could just get enough energy, and not have contractions long enough, to get the hospital bag packed and one for the boys, I'd feel so much better). So I'm due Christmas Day, but I'm now hoping we make it past Thanksgiving! The week after Thanksgiving I turn 37 weeks, and that's considered full term, so that's what the aim is for now.

The boys have been great. They watch way too much tv, but I've come to peace with that until Zack comes (yeah, we finally got a first name.... and it's up to Trev for the middle name).
(This is them parked in front of the TV, armed with popcycles. The day Owen got tubes they literally went through almost an entire box of them, combined with tons tons of popcorn)

Owen had outpatient surgery this week, getting two new tubes in his ears. They both just got tubes February of this year, but he was having problems with his. He did great, and is great coming out of anistesia. He's been sleeping so much better, and I'm hoping these tubes help him have some relief for a couple years. Poor Cam got a nasty ear infection (despite his tubes, which are still in good condition) that ended up producing tons of bleeding from his ear.

Despite my deep concern at the side of lots of blood, they weren't concerned and just kept him on the medicine and drops they'd already given him. Luckily the bleeding has stopped (although his sheets are still covered) and he's starting to feel a little bit better.

And luckily they are creative kids. You would think that I would still have energy to think of things for them to do while I stay laying down, but it's like all my functioning has stopped. So, luckily, they come up with things on their own. This is Owen in his 'Tractor' that he made (bear with bib on, in the back seat and all).

Trevor is officially an insurance agent now, and had his first real week last week. He's loving it, and been such a hard worker. He's had lots of appointments at night, and has been working all day (from home) so it's hard to have him gone. But lucky for me he's my angel, and tells me every morning that he'll cancel it all if I need his help because the baby and I are more important. It's a crazy time with ears and contractions and a new job, but all of which we are thankful for (maybe not hurt ears, but available technology to fix them).

I'm so excited for Thanksgiving and everything that surrounds Christmas. We sat on our bed the other day and listened to a bunch of Christmas music (Trev and I are big fans) and told the boys all about picking a tree and Santa and presents and Jesus's 'happy birthday'. They are so excited. We've had snow on the ground all week and I love the thought of Christmas morning, with three cute boys in new jammies, tons of presents, and hot chocolate.

(and to all you fellow bloggers, I'm so sorry I haven't looked, or commented on your blogs. I hope all is well with everybody!)

We are so blessed to be such a happy family and get to have another angel come into our lives. Wish us luck and send us your love and prayers while we try to plow through the next few weeks!

I can only imagine having to go through so many contractions - at least Zach is staying in for now. Hopefully he will stick it out til week 37 so you can have a healthy baby but still not have to make it through those last few horrible weeks (although sounds like you have had your own rough weeks).

I hear you about a little more tv than usual. I am guilty of letting Elise watch a little too much "Micky Mouse Clubhouse" but you do what you gotta do to make it through the day :)

I am totally with you on Christmas and the holidays. We are already getting geared up - we even have the tree up (had to do it before the baby came or it would probably wouldn't get done). Good luck in these next few weeks!!!
