Mom Initiation: poop

So I am officially initiated as a mom. Initation? Poop.

You would think after 11 1/2 months with two babies I would have had many a experiences as such... wrong. None. Until now.

My little brother and I made an elaborate box tunnel/fort. It had a hallway, a room, a tunnel, windows, and a skylight. The night after we finished this elaborate play-mate, I had just given the boys a bath. Owen had been passing a lot of gas so I knew I needed to get a diaper on him really quickly. Cameron was playing in the fort while I was diapering Owen. I went to get Cameron to do the same to him. That's when I knew I was soon to get my initiation.

Cameron had pooped in the hallway, and succesfully painted the whole floor of the cardboard room. It was all over him. I stood and looked, contemplating if I could sanitize cardboard. I really didn't want to take down the exciting toy. Then I decided- probably not.

You would think it would be easy to take down a cardboard fort. Well, not this one. It was reinforced all over the place so that it would last a long time with two boys (and a few adults) going through it's hallways many times a day. It was tied to the changing table, taped all over to each other, and taped to some standing toys to keep the boxes walls strong. So I stuck my head in to untape it from the one box that I was going to salvage. Cameron wanted to see what I was doing, so he quickly would crawl towards me with excitement. I was trying to explain to him that it was not anything exciting and that he should go play with Owen. But instead it came out as "STOP!" He'd stop just before the pile of 'paint' and giggle. He'd go out of the box, and come towards me again. I was trying so hard to fight the urge to be exciting, but it just kept coming out as "STOP!" While Cameron continued coming towards the poop, while I was trying to untie the boxes, Owen wanted to come join the excitement. So he started coming towards me from the other tunnel (at this point I wasn't so excited that we had made more than one entrance). So I was putting my foot up to stop Owen, and trying to stop Cameron with my hand, while untying and trying to not fall into the poop.

Needless to say I wished so badly that I had a 'nanny-cam' in their room to catch the whole thing. We could have won on funniest home videos for sure. I successfully got the whole fort out of their room, to just set it on the porch for Trevor to deal with when he came home. Gave cameron a wet-wipe bath, and carpet clean their room. They went to bed. I laughed again, and then ate some chocolate!!!

You poor thing! That is so sad you had to take down your fun fort so soon. But, you're right cardboard isn't really cleanable. Thanks for the laughs though. Hey, you got your music up! I love those songs. I hadn't heard the King Singers one. We just saw them at the Christmas program thing with the Morman Tab on Friday. It was our second time seeing them perform, they're fun to watch.

That is too funny!!!! I used to build those forts when I was little too; the motel would order 50 new TVs and I got all the boxes! At least you lasted this long without a poo experience, I hope I will be so lucky!
