Hello! I am sorry I didn't give more details quickly about the pregnancy... I'd give you a better excuse.... but it's pretty much that I'm pregnant and have 3 kids!
I have this complex about blogging without pictures.... so sometimes it takes longer just because of uploading pictures and whatnot. Anyway, life is great! Babies are doing good! Lots of you asked a lot of questions. So here's my quick answer all....
So, we felt really strongly it was time to add to our family. We started trying with no luck. We got on chlomid and got pregnant the first month on it! I was feeling so sick and anxious to know that everything was ok. Amongst all this there was a bunch of things that happened that told us that I needed to quit my job. The kids needed me home. We didn't know how we were going to make finances last, but didn't hesitate to put our family first and I gave a two week notice. The morning of my last day of work I went in for my first appointment at 10 weeks.
I was laying there as she started the ultrasound. She (my doctor) said, "Well, let's make sure there's just one baby in there." She puts the ultrasound on. I was so nervous that I couldn't really make out anything. "There's the baby!" She says. "Oh........................ there's two" I looked up at the ceiling. Oh my goodness.... 2 babies. Then suddenly at the exact same time Trevor and the Doctor, "There's THREE."
I seriously went into some sort of shock. I couldn't believe it. I looked at the ultrasound screen. Sure enough. There was three babies. Oh my gosh. We were going to double our family. Oh my gosh. "There's still a good chance one won't make it. You're not very far along." She started doing the ultrasound, measuring babies, and clicking lots of buttons. Trevor and I just stared at each other. And then the screen. I laughed and said, "Well I guess that's why I was supposed to quit." Trevor looked at me, "How are we ever going to go to church again?!"
Oh my goodness! As the doctor kept doing the ultrasound she realized one of the babies was smaller and didn't have a heartbeat. It all happened so fast. We went from 1 to 3 to 2. "That's kind of mixed emotions, huh?" I would say so. We finished the appointment and just tried to obsorb everything.
We waited in the waiting room to get some labs. I was feeling so excited for 2 healthy babies, and a loss for the third. Trevor turned to me, "Where are we going to fit them in the van? How are we going to fit them in the house?" We were thinking both equally important, but SOOOO different of things. We called our parents and tried to let it all sink in while he headed back to pick up kids and I went to my last day of work.
So..... that's been a couple months ago. The thought of 2 instead of 3 makes it much less over whealming. I cannot forget what a pregnancy and newborn stage of 2 babies is like. It is such a mix of emotions. To be honest, I am so nervous and so excited. All at the same time.... or big swings between the two.
I am so glad that I am home. We have never had such a hard time with finances, but we also have never been so grateful that we made such a hard decision. I can see in the kids, our marriage, and the feeling in our home, everyday, that we made the right decision. I am feeling pretty good. Morning sickness has subsided and I am now left with getting big fast, trying to do A TON of things to help make things easier when the babies come, and keep my home and kids feeling loved.
This has been our July....
Zach has a bucket that he puts all the trains, cars, trucks, and tractors in it that we own. He literally carts it around everywhere. When he is not playing with brothers he is happily, for hours, setting them up. Sometimes in a big train, sometimes by categories. He will sit and talk (it is hilarious) with them. It is one of my favorite things that he does.
The older boys had a karate camp from Sensa Judd. Owen loved loved learning how to defend himself.
And Cameron loved being with the other kids and learning something new that he could then teach Zach.
We have had many a celebration days! The 4th down in Layton with a day full of parades, bouncy slides, food, swimming, and fireworks. Then for the 24th we spent in Mendon enjoying all the festivities including the infamous fireman hose-down! (That Zach, obviously, wasn't a big fan of)
And then the rest of the time I have been growing and eating! At my 16 week appointment I was measuring 2 months bigger than a singleton pregnancy (so 24 weeks). I am already a bigger than I was in this picture. The babies are healthy and very active. Anytime we try to hear heartbeats we can't hear them over them wiggling so much. I have been feeling them for a little bit, but have just started to be sure that I am feeling them with my hand on the outside feeling them. It is so wonderful. I am 18 weeks today... which marks half way for a full term 36 week twin pregnancy (don't worry Mom, I'm still aiming for 39 weeks:) OH... the due date is December 26th. So these babies wanted to fit right in with their brother's birthdays! We find out on August 6th what we are having!!!!
My craving this pregnancy... BLT's and chocolate milk. The BLT with gluten free bread, burnt bacon, cooked onions, mayo, cheese, and lettuce. And then a gluten free chocolate stirred into the milk. MMMMMMM!
Don't forget to comment... it makes me feel special!!! (And reinforces me actually blogging more often :)
