So these have been on the side of my blog.... and are almost a year old. So I figured I better take them off and start some new ones, but wanted to put them in a post for document's sake.
-Trev took his first test to get licensed to be an insurance agent. He had studied constantly for days and days and even took a pricey class to increase his chances. He failed by 3 questions. When he got home from it I tackled him and said, "It's all good honey. I love you billions! You'll pass next time." He looked at me trying not to smile and said, "How come you have to be so happy all the time? You should be mad at me!"
-The boys and I were driving by the tabernacle. I told them that that was where I got baptized. Cameron asked when he could get baptized. I told him when he was 8 if he wanted to. He was quiet for a minute and then said, "Yeah. Cause I like Jesus. You like Jesus mom?" I said, "Yup, that's why I got baptized!"
-I had been up all night with pregnancy pains. In the morning I was sitting on the couch and got a sharp intense pain that sent me to tears. Immediatly all 3 of my boys were right by me. Cameron went and got his blanket (his comfort item) and said, "You ok mom? Here ya go. Blanket make it better."
-I was rambling off names to the boys and asking them what we should call the baby. Owen was drawing with sidewalk chalk, drew a line (which is a person) and said, "Mom, call the baby Jesus!"
-The morning of our 4 year anniversary we put in our wedding video and all sat down and watched it. When I started walking down the isle with my dad Cameron said, "It's pa-pa Aldrich. I like him."
-The boys always get to pick one song for us to sing to them before bed. After I finished singing Cameron still wanted more songs. I told him that was the last one mommy was singing. He was sad. So Owen got out of his bed and sat by Cameron. He started rubbing his back and sang him Twinkle Little Star.
-I got about 2 hours of sleep and had an early (7am) morning dentist appointment. I'm laying in the chair getting a filling, a little shaky from no sleep and novicane. I put my hands in the pocket of my hoodie and felt the baby kick over and over. (This was the first time I had from the outside!)
-I'm at the ER with Owen getting 6 stitches in his ear, our faces right next to each other's, staring in eachother's eyes. All I can think of, "I'm so so proud to be your mom".
-We're getting the 19 week ultrasound, I've got jelly all over my belly, and can't take my eyes off the screen. Trev scoots his chair closer to me and grabs my hand.
-The ultrasound guy is trying to check the babies face and lips and the baby would not put his arms down.
-I'm saying my goodbyes before I go to work and I sit on Trev's lap for a second and he wraps his arms around me. Cameron looks up and says, "That's your mommy". Knowing Trev wouldn't give up his goodbye hug.
-We're sitting in church and Cameron is playing with Dora stickers. He puts the "Mommi" on one hand and the "Poppi" on the other. He puts his hands together and makes a kissing noise. I guess he knows moms and dads kiss!
-(This one's not "politically correct" to talk about publically... but when you have two year olds it just doesn't matter) Both boys are in the bathroom with me (this has become very normal since we started talking about potties). I stand up and Cameron looks in it. "Mommy went poop. Good job mom, high five! You get chocolate!"
-It was the first night home from the hospital after a few days of being gone. I put the boys to bed, and Cameron kept saying over and over, “One more hug mommy.”
-I’d been with my mom in the hospital for almost two weeks, the day I got home Trev left on a fishing trip. He came home 4 days later, our first reunion at a public park surrounded by his whole family. I ran to him and jumped on him, wrapping my legs around him. We kissed and hugged and said I missed you for a few minutes. Nobody in the world existed except us.
-Cameron and I were reading a bedtime book. We always to pretend to eat the candy (picture). I started ‘eating’ the candy and he said, “No mommy, prayer first.” (We said a prayer, and then proceeded to pretend eat).
-Trevor was gone on a fishing trip with his brothers and Owen and I were sitting on the couch cuddling. He looked at me and grinned, “No, my daddy!” (A game that Trevor often initiates)
-My brother and I had been up all night in the hospital waiting room waiting for my mom to get out of surgery. We were tired and emotionally distraught. The next morning our dad called (who is my mom’s EX husband) and he said, “My prayers are with your mom and with you.”
-It was the first time my mom had been able to leave her hospital room at all in over a week and a half. We wheeled her out to the garden square. We sat around and told her all the funny things she said when she was on morphine. She laughed.
-Owen, “Oma at the doctor getting a Dora sticker for her ouch.” (Translation: doctor = hospital, Dora sticker = band-aid)
-I was trying on all of my swimming suits and tank tops to try to fashion some sort of pregnant cover-up. I walked out to show Trevor and Cameron ran up to me, “That’s cute!”
-I’m on the phone with Trevor having one of my few breakdowns while my mom was in the hospital. He pauses and says, “Honey, you and the baby are the most important things. Take care of that first.” -At work we were talking about foreign countries that the women don’t come out much and aren’t allowed much say in anything. The general manger of the company looked at me (the only woman in the company) and said, “You’d do REAL well there Seantae!” And then couldn’t stop laughing.
-All four of us are sick. It’s the middle of the night (for the third night in a row) that Owen wakes up with a flamin’ fever. Half way through the night I give him to Trevor because I have to get some sleep. I wake up a couple hours later to check on them. I look over and they are both laying on their sides, facing me, same position, same features. Perfect.
-It’s midnight and I can’t stop crying, thinking all the bad things that I shouldn’t be about my mom’s health. Trev finally convinces me to call there to check on her. My 16 year old brother answers and talks to me. I cry harder and harder and he eventually calms me down. I say I’m ok and he can go to bed. He says, “Séance, I can talk to you as long as you need.”
-In the hospital the nurses called me, “The daughter that braids her mom’s hair.” Which I have to say is all because from the moment my mom could talk (through morphine even) she asked me to do as such.
-The cleaning lady in the hospital told my mom that she’d, “Never ever seen as much family support as you have.” (We kinda like her)
-We’re explaining to the boys about our upcoming family vacation to Jackson Hole and Yellowstone. We’re getting them excited by telling them about all of the animals that we’ll see. Cameron’s repeating them, “Elk, Moose, Eagle, Bear,” and then he adds, “and PENGUINS!”
-When we were pregnant with the boys we went to a big soccer game. We walked in late due to me being pregnant with two boys sitting on my bladder. Trev went ahead to find our seats. I come out of the tunnel thing and Trev's way ahead of me. He stops, turns around, and shouts so loud in front of everybody, "Honey! Right here!" (I know this one sounds wierd, but I love that he didn't bat an eye at our PDA pet name.)
-I read the comments that people had left about this entry, and it made me cry.
-I was singing a night time song to Owen. He was trying to sing along, but didn't know the words at all. He just stared at me without blinking, while cutely singing the wrong words. At the same time we both just started cracking up.
-I've been waiting for weeks to KNOW that I feel the baby kicking. Trev and I were laying in bed on a Sunday afternoon and we both felt it kick for the first time together. Then we looked at eachother, and without saying a word, knew that we were the luckiest people in the world, and were so in love.
-We were all hot and tired and hungry (and I, of course, had to pee). We walked down a bunch of switch backs in the pouring rain to see lower falls in Yellowstone. The sun suddenlty came out and there were three beautiful rainbows over the canyon.
-I was getting ready for work and Cameron asked me to watch the, "Mommy-Daddy Show" (which is the slideshow of pictures from us dating and engagement.)
-My mom gets to EAT!!!!
-I was tucking the boys in and telling them that, "Tomorrow we get to go see some fireworks, and that Oma and Billy might come to." Owen looked at me and said, "Oma ouch getting better."
-I'm sitting at work for the first day since I've truly felt the baby kick. I can't stop smiling cause the little bugger doesn't stop! (All the guys think I'm crazy here!)
