August came and left SOOO fast! It was our month full of camping. We ended up being camping almost more days than we were home!
Owen decided that August was the month to start his own fashion line. It all started when he found some long colorful socks (actually sock). He put it on to become a soccer player (and wore it every day). Then he decided he wanted to be a missionary. So he had to wear a tie everyday. So this outfit (I seriously have something similar everyday for almost 2 weeks) has a tie that matches the long sleeve shirt and a basketball shirt that is the same color as the soccer sock and basketball shorts. I'm thinking we won't need to look far for Halloween :)
We made our annual Jackson Hole trip a lot more interesting and fun by going with two other families, and going for a whole week! (This trip needs to be it's own post) But look at this beautiful scenery and this great group of people!
And this great group of kids.... we won't mention that our campsite neighbors didn't appreciate that we had Five 4 year old boys and Three almost 2 year olds!
Just 4 days after getting back from camping in Jackson Hole we had a Jackson camping reunion (from Trev's parents down) while his sister was in town. It was so much fun spending time with family, around the camp fire, singing songs with the kids.
And it was so fun staying up late playing cards and eating too much candy!
Cameron had his first follow up with the GI Specialist since the diagnosis. So we turned it into a Cameron and Mommy day. We found a bakery that made ONLY gluten free goodies and pizza place next to it that had a gluten free pizza. So after the doctors we got the pizza and met my mom at a park in Layton. It was fun to just have fun. Then we headed to the gluten free bakery. We walked in and I asked them which options were for celiacs. She told me EVERYTHING. Cameron smiled so big, "I can have whatever I want? ALL of it is safe?!" My mom, the worker, and I, all got tears in our eyes. The worker was so excited, "That reaction is exactly why we started this business! Here you go buddy, have as many samples as you want!" (While handing him an entire sample tray.) I would say our mommy Cameron day was a success!
August brought my little bro starting college!! I can't believe it! He let me come down the night before classes started and toured me around the beautiful campus of U of U. I know he's so grown up, but I still look at him and just think of what a handsome, wonderful kid he is! (love you bud)
My amazing friend Leisa moved, so some of us put together a surprise dinner for her. She was mad at me for taking her to Texas Road House, and then was confused when I had a table under my name, and then cried when she saw everybody there ready to surprise her. There is something amazing to be said to have a group of friends that supports and loves us through the thick and thin of everything!
Trevor and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary! We got a babysitter overnight and I surprised him with a hotel room (just in town). We went to dinner and had such a great night enjoying the quiet, clean, calm hotel room. The next morning I surprised him with a new dress for me and a new tie for him. We went to the park and took pictures of ourselves to recreate a photo shoot we did just before we got married. It was so fun to just spend time together and be reminded of how much, 6 years later, we love eachother!
August was the month of feeling supported and loved. Sometimes it take big trials to remember that it is ok to let others help and support and love you. I am so grateful for amazing friends and family that share in my joys, and cry in my hard times. But mostly that they carry me when I cannot carry myself.
